View Full Version : Scream Park Is Awesome

I love haunted attractions, but most are pretty predictable. Not Scream Park - I LOVED it! I saw one woman who had apparently wet her pants. I'm not sure what some of the "reviewers" angles are, but I suspect they work for the attractions they're promoting while trashing Scream Park. Totally lame attempt. Scream Park is so much better than the other attractions I've seen in Denver, and reasonably priced. It's worth the drive. I didn't take a head count, but I bet I saw 40 actors. It took about 50 minutes to get through it. I've never seen a haunted train ride before, very original. I was let in far enough behind the group in front of me so that the scares and surprises weren't spoiled by being run through too close. Don't listen to the trashers - they have their own agendas.

-Still looking forward to checking it out not based on any reviews.

Truth! I am looking forward to Screaming my head off in the Park when Friday the 13th rolls around. Thanks, goth'.

Tye, why be suspicious of everyone? Yeah, I know there's rivalry and backstabbing afoot-but no need to assume that each poster has an ulterior motive. At least I hope that's not the case.

Get over yourself. I don't work for Scream Park. Mine was an unbiased review.

Your "review" would have appeared more unbiased had you not also claimed that other "reviewers" have their own agendas. Which other haunts have you been to this year?

my friend was going to go through it last night, and the reason she didnt was because there was no one in line and all the actors were outside smoking. Sounds to me like there is some strange aura around that post. Understand I myself have never been through scream par, but this is what a friend of mine said last night when she was going to go through it. and 50 minutes for a house??? never heard of that, not saying it doesn't exist just stating that for one house to be 50 minutes is quite a while...

Ok well i went to scream park last night and my group and i were the first people there. It wasn't even close to taking 50 minutes to get through, maybe 25 at the most for both haunts combined. The actors seemed really new and not very scary. I'll admit there were some scary parts, but they needed more practice. I felt a little ripped off last night because i drove 40 minutes to go there paid 25 bucks for two short haunts. I kinda think the train part would have been cooler without the train, it would have been scarier to walk through that part then to ride on a it. Anyways, i'm sure scream park will be pretty good next week when hd is there and after that, but it was definatly lame last night. I don't have some agenda, i'm not working for some other haunted house. If anyone was to have an agenda it would be the person posting this topic because they seem to be going crazy about it. But idk if they are or not.

First things first, I was outside all night AND NONE of my actors where out front smoking. THAT is a complete lie. There were customers outside smoking so maybe your friend saw them. Second of all, I think my house did good for the opening night. I am sorry that some didnt like it or had problems. I would have loved to known about it. You cant miss me I have a shirt on that says WelchWitch under the logo...lol. Everyone is entitled to their thoughts I am cool with the good and the bad. I invite those that didnt have a good time to come back if they want to try it again and see what they think. Opening night is hard but now its behind me and we move on to the rest of the season. Thanks to all for coming out and look forward to meeting more of you when and if you come out. I had alot of fun last night and alot of people are in the mood for scares and are having a blast. That so helps across the board getting everyone into the groove. And as far as the time I am presumming she meant maybe both houses combined, cause that makes more sense. The Train Ride does slow down one side, but groups of 12 are going through at once so that helps. But no more spoilers...I dont want to get caught up in all this, I just wanted to say thanks and correct the smoking comment. I will be on to read the thoughts cause I want to learn from them and continue with what we are trying to do. If anyone has a problem see me so I can help and make it better for them. Thanks guys.

I went to scream park 3 times last year. 1 night was pretty bad another was good and another was f**king amazing. It is always a gamble as to whether or not your night at the haunt will be good or not, that is the nature of the industrie. I am looking forward to visiting screampark this year given the fact that there was just as much back and forth banter last year I am probably going to like it this year.

Okay, a few things here that warrant some attention:

First, Gothgirl, I'm not sure the reviewers have an angle and since when has it stopped anybody from "trashing" another attraction to promote their own? Besides their "agenda" is to give us an alternative viewpoint to other posters and the Haunted Denver reviewers. On the topic, I would like to know which others you've seen in Denver just so we could have a comparison of what it's better than.

As far as the train ride goes I'm glad you enjoyed it but it isn't very original; Frightmare did it several years ago (they are the originators in Colorado to my knowledge) and Castle Dracul did it before bumping it down to CarnEvil.

And WW, 12 person groups? Is that what you're pushing through at a time or is that what you're getting on the train? And as far as the smoking comment goes, I find it really hard to believe that all of your actors would be outside smoking unless you had them on a break. Wouldn't it be pretty tough to miss 40 people all sneaking out of their spots to smoke cigarettes near the queuing area?

You're right you get different shows on different nights, we all acknowledge that part but like Rob said, if you are going to charge the same price every night then you should provide the same quality show every night.

Either way, I'm looking forward to heading up this weekend.

Scream Park "was" alot better then all the haunts in denver LAST YEAR, however this year is a joke! Oh and it might take around fifty minutes for a wheelchair to get through this haunt ,unless of course you crawled! So tell us Gothgirl666 what do you have to say about some of the other haunts you have seen this year,or are you to busy working at Scam Park! Please girl if you havnt noticed the people who post read and review here on these boards may have been born at night , just not last night baby! 93.3 picked this haunt for what it produced last year and that "was "a kick ass show ! I bet they wet their pants when they see just how great this haunt really is now ! They may even poop! I know I wanted to( all over my ticket stub)

what does that have to do with anything? Most of the public don't know anything about Haunted houses yet they get an opinion.

And like I said before it's not like the radio station was just driving by and said hey lets stop there and give an honest review of what's going on.

They were there for a reason and that reason is to pimp out the haunted house! Plain and simple....it doesn't matter what they know about the product it is that they are there pimping it out is all that matters. Most don't know anything about sporting events yet they remote from there. Most don't know anything about running a major store in a mall, yet they remote there....get the point?

So does that mean you know nothing about haunted houses? You go through them or so you say and talk like you know. You know what you like and dont like. Why is it they cant? Is it because they are paying for a portion of this house, that doesn't allow them to know what they like or not. Then if thats the case since your a newbie here, you dont know what your talking about and don't count. Only those that have been here longer then you know. Now right now you are rolling your eyes trying to think of something new to say, but in the long run, what you said makes about much sense as what I said. They have been dealing with alot of Haunted Houses throughout this area for many years. Maybe that it, your an owner of another house mad cause they came with us and not your haunt....hmmmmmmm makes sense.....get my point????

Just a quick comment about the aforementioned smoking debate. Last year I know the actors were smoking in the "land of the dead" zombie room. I smelled the smoke and spied an actor tucking his ciggy away as we approached. Of course I let someone know and I hope the offender was caught. So actors need not stand out front to smoke (not saying they were)... but I sure hope I don't catch anyone this year.

And really... everyone has their opinions. If you can't respect it, don't read posts that conflict with your own view. It'll save us a lot of time. http://www.octoberlounge.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif

First off, Scream Park: I think most of this has been caused as a backlash because everything you say states you "received the People's Choice" and "the only Colorado haunted house to receive a perfect score from haunteddenver.com." You have given yourself very high standards, and when people didn't think that you met them, they got angry.

Everyone else: haven't we beat the horse dead yet? Now I haven't been up there yet, but I think that maybe enough has been said so far. This forum was created so people could talk about the haunts, not gang up on one as it seems has happened here. These are "Reader Reviews," not dig a 6 foot hole, throw a haunt in and bury it. If you don't like it fine, post that you don't, if you do, post that you do. Does anyone honestly believe that the more bullsh*t they come up with (for either side) is going to change how someone else thinks? Now most people here know that I'm always one to argue (Scarica http://www.octoberlounge.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif ) but I think some of this has carried on far enough.

We all love this time of year, let's spend some time enjoying it.

He speaks the truth regarding sponsorships. If a radio station sponsors someone they are sponsoring, they are going to advertise it so that they can get rewarded in the deal as well. They obviously aren't going to try to lose money as any 8 year old with a lemonade stand can tell you that this is bad business practice

Placing 9th out of 21 houses isnt too bad for someone with no experience . Very cool, I was worried after all the crap talked we would be dead last. Congrads to all the houses. I now have a new respect for all houses and will write a book after its all done. There is soo much that goes on that the public isnt aware of. Memoirs of a Haunted House. Or maybe call it, bloopers of the haunted house industry. Will think of a cool name. Those that did great awesome, those that didnt, awesome job anyways. Its hard work and a thankless job.
