So I made it to Brutal Planet this past weekend. They have really changed it up! This year they have the haunt in the Theater at the Park. First off, I have to say that the scenes were amazing this year. They payed a lot of attention to the details! I don't think I saw anything from previous years, I think they started from scratch this year. I hope it's because it was opening night, but I think the acting needed a little help, there were some great actors, and some not so great actors in there. It is a great concept though, you are walking through serial killer's house. Every turn you see another way this guy has killed his victim. I think this is one of the first years where the theme seemed to be carried throughout the whole house! Overall, I think I would give this a 9 star rating because of the acting. Had they been better, I would have definitely given it a 10! Anyone else who has gone, can you tell me if you saw better acting on other nights?
Also this year, they are having a creepy guy that offers you a chance to get a V.I.P. ticket for your group if you eat a big nasty cockroach. These things were huge, like 2 inches long. I wasn't about to eat one myself, but I did watch this guy eat one, and it was just nasty! I about puked at the site!

[b]Me and a friend also went to BRUTAL PLANET this past Saturday night...twice. And we both thought it was pretty good...I loved the concept and the production design, and there were a few decent scares. But I do totally agree with you that the actors needed a little work.
I am involved with my community theatre, and I used to create and direct Cheyenne's best haunted house, THE HAUNTED ATLAS, so I am sometimes overly critical on the acting part.
But, again, it was a good time...I can't really compare it to previous years, because this is the first time I'd been to BRUTAL PLANET since before it moved to SIX FLAGS.
But to be completely honest, my friend and I both really liked the other haunt at the part, SCREAMS FROM THE PAST, alot better.
Ok...one more minor complaint about BP...it seemed that they were letting the groups in too soon...what I mean is that both times we caught up with the group ahead of us, and that kind of "steals" our scares a bit...and the same thing with the group behind us, they caught up with us as well.
I know this was opening weekend, and they will get the timing better.
Also...one last note...the SEANCE at Six Flags, was really an awesome theatrical experience...I reccommend that anyone going to FRIGHT FEST, definitely check it out. That's all! Unpleasant dreams!

My girlfreind and I also found screams from the past to be better than brutal planet. We went yesterday. Brutal planet was alot shorter this year which let me down. The acting was not good at all last night and I have to say I didnt think the sets were very good. There were sevral areas that looked unfinished and places that needed to be closed in so you coulnd see the behind the scenes stuff. Compared to last years haunt I was completly dissapointed. Screams however was alot more polished and had alot more startles.

considering the budget behind brutal planet and screams from the past i was bummed... the actors were disapointing, the scenes were cool but looked like they were trying to save money...
THE MOST DISAPOINTING of either was both the wait and the fact that it was so crowded inside that there were people in front of you AND behind you that arent even supposed to be in your group. Actors would jump out at the group right in front of you and wouldnt have time to set up again b4 you passed by so they would just look at you... Six flags should've limited the amount of people that go in and made sure they kept moving....
This experience will ensure that I never go to big haunts ever again. The smaller corn fields like terror in the corn and asylum are worth the money as brutal/screams are not.
too many people... totally ruined it! Ill never go to any big haunts ever again.
Unless you and maybe 2 other people are alone in it, its really not scary. You'll find out this sad fact if you end up going...
Plus the waits are rediculous and the houses are short... weighed out its not worth it... sorry

I am one of the actors in Brutal Planet and even I agree that some of the acting in the house is not the best...There are actors there thou who know how to act and who put on a good show but then there are the few that have no clue what they are doing...Also there are some volunteers that are put in the house some nights jsut to fill up spots and believe me they drive us crazy...ohh well....
