What a perfect evening, umbrellaed by a gorgeous October sky. WelchWitch and her wonderful staff provided a terrific experience for their audience tonight. I loved the fact that we got to see Firemancer perform in addition to all the of other thrills provided. (So what if we didn't get to take home the cadaver. *garumph!*) They were amazing-and made us hungry for more of their pyrotechnic wizardry. Also, the "Hot Chocolate Lady" was adorable and her wares were just the thing for taking off the chill.
As for the HAUNTS-We started out by venturing into "The Mouth of Madness". The actors were enthusiastic and very professional. There was one in particular who was especially unnerving because of his subdued approach in stalking us. I don't want to spoil it by further description. Chainsaw-guys made very effective use of their implements. I take back what I said earlier about chainsaws. It's how you use 'em!
I can tell that a lot of thought was put into the lay-out, lots of good use of misdirection. This provided great opportunities for the spooks to do their thing.
The second one ("Endless Graveyard") was my favorite of the two, only because of one truly awesome scare that I will NEVER forget. I shan't spoil it in any way. You guys did such a fantastic job with spacing the crowd intake-and it really pays off. I appreciate the extra effort that you take in doing this, almost more than anything.
If I were to offer any advice at all, it would be a request for a little ambient lighting in some areas. Not too much, just enough to be able to admire the creepy landscape and attention to detail that you worked so hard to achieve.
Best of all, I finally got to meet Rob, Scarica, skelterbet, redskittle and Welch Witch herself! To the Scream Park staff and special guests, give yourselves a round of applause. Thanks for making this such a memorable night for me and my pals.
