View Full Version : The Most Original Haunt Out There
This is one of the most original haunts out there this year. It is in the middle of the forest, and when I say Forest I mean Thousands of tall trees. It is not like the others in a building. The scenes are great and really fit in with the scenery. You also Definetly get your moneys worth it took our group almost 25 min to go through the whole thing. Then for just an extra 5 dollars you can go back through the whole thing again. No one in our group had anything bad to say about this haunt. It is also nice not to have to wait in line for hours like the other haunted houses I believe we only waited in line for about 15 min. But do warned not to run you will hit a tree then you don't know what will get you.

this definatly was the most clever haunt I have seen this season. The end scare nearly stopped my heart but Im not going to give it away all I will say is that the village kept running through my head. I was also glad to find out I wasnt the only one to make the drive from longmont to see it, the ticket lady said that there had been 5 longmonters the night before. Most people who read the posts here every year know that I dont like chainsaws because they are lame and not scary but the chainsaw in this haunt actually did scare me very effectively, I did not see it coming. It is definatly worth seeing.

Ok, last night I FINALLY made it down to Franktown to check out this haunt! The drive was not too bad, and once you get going on highway 86 it helps set the mood for the theme as you are seeing nothing but the forest around you. And once you turn off and wind around on the dirt roads to get to the haunt, you start feeling a bit isolated which also gets you in the mood to be scared.
It was pretty busy last night, so we did the VIP pass to skip the 45 minute wait.
You walk on a narrow trail that is very uneven, and it's pretty darn dark out there, so you are so focused on your footing it is pretty easy to catch you off guard and scare you. And it was really muddy and slippery so that kept your focus on where you were walking.
The woods where the trail is were not as heavily forested as I had hoped, and it was more of a clearing that you were walking through with heavy forest around you.
While walking through, we heard screams coming from the woods, laughter, and other weird noises. It was great because out in the woods the sound resonates, and you're really not sure where it's coming from.
The first actor we encountered came at us like a locomotive out of nowhere, and he got our entire group! Then he snuck back up and got my friend again! There were some cool effects and scenes, and they used strobe lights in a couple of places, and they also used cobwebs to make "tunnels" to walk through. The cabin was well done, but I wish it had been longer to walk through.
The cemetery was also pretty cool, but again short, but there are some great scares there.
The actors were pretty creepy as they did not jump out and do the typical "Grrrrrrrr" noise at you. A lot of them said nothing, and that was worse than any noise they could have made. There was was one actor that followed my friend and just kept giggling real quiet, and that was creepy. Costumes and makeup were good, and there were a couple that I really liked.
This is an original haunt that our group really enjoyed. There were a few places where it seemed like there was nothing happening, but overall a good time!
I was dissapointed at the end because there was no scare that nearly stopped my heart. I was looking forward to that...sigh.

I don't live too far from this haunt so it was first on my list. I went on the 28th and we waited in the line for about an hour which was a little annoying but they gave us free hot chocolate to warm up. I really liked the first chainsaw guy because I had no idea he was there at all. I really liked the actors. There were no little kid actors which made it 5 times better to me. I find little kids who growl at you more funny than scary. I think the design needed some help but I liked the length of the haunt, it's one of the longest I've been too. My favorite part was that they made you wait 2 minutes and 30 seconds after the group ahead of you went through. The actors had plenty of time to hide before we got to them. It made the whole thing better.
