So the word on the street is that Hell's Delight won't be back for a second season.

Not that it was much of a haunted house, but I liked the idea of something edgy and different.

Anyone heard differently?

Haven't heard anything yet, my friend knows one of the guys that ran it last year. I'll have him look into it.

Yeah, it was one of my personal favorites last year for the premise rather than the execution. The attraction itself was bollocks and was acted out like a bad night in Capitol Hill. It was scary though, I actually thought I might come out of there with Hep. B if I didn't have vaccinations.

If they can pull something off other than an straight out "shock value" they have a lot of potential but if it's the same getup as last year then I'll just head down to Zilla's bar and watch the troglodytes try to eat eachother.

It's a cryin' shame. It'd be truly exciting to see something that doesn't have to pull the punches. I was really curious about this one, but I heard too many disappointing reviews. I guess it was a real train wreck.
It's too bad because there's really a void that needs filling for the 18+ crowd that's craving some darker thrills. By that, I don't mean a late-night stumble into Kitty's...

I think Denver's still just waiting for somebody to pull out ALL the stops, a la House of Shock in New Orleans. That one got tons of publicity for years, and the primary reason was because they had a goat peeing on a crucifix. We've already had one extreme in Denver, with the whole Hell House thing reaching its peak up in Arvada years ago. Now somebody just needs to come along and do the opposite extreme. That's what I thought Hell's Delight was going to be. Don't get me wrong, I'm a churchgoer myself and I don't intend for my eventual haunt to be a sacrilege. I'm just saying that I wouldn't be surprised if someone else tried to balance things out in the opposite direction from Hell House.

Again, I think it was a great idea just badly executed but let's be honest, it is seldom that you achieve the fame within the first season of operation as an "elite" attraction and moreso for this group since they eliminate a large portion of a haunted attractions demographic, i.e.: 13-17 year olds and they are (for the most part) dealing with a pickier audience already going in with higher expectations.

I do hope that they realize the errors and figure out a way to improve on them so that we can have an attraction that is suited to my demographic.

People may misunderstand me, I don't want to see any attraction close their doors, I just want them to adhere to the standards that they have set by their prices and claims and to provide a quality show in a very laxadaisical industry (at least lax in Colorado), people need to demand more than just building a maze, painting it black and... I will cut it here because if I don't I'll be spilling out my "'A' material" that I'm saving for October, that way you'll know real is back.

Well, I didn't get to go to Hell's Delight last year (which seem to be a good thing). I don't mind it trying to be edgier/darker, but if its crap....you gotta let it go. There are too many haunted houses out there (some good, some...blah) that we don't need one that outright stinks. I would like to see a darker/edgier haunted house sans the very loud noises and just people jumping out of bushes going boo. http://www.octoberlounge.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mellow.gif
