Can't help you with the reply but as far as what will be good this year, well, everyone knows I'm picky. Truth is that they're pretty much up to what you like but if I were to direct you I'd mostly just say to look at the top 6 from last year and pick one that you think you'd like or that's close to you.

Hey Hellraiser... What kind of error are you getting when you try to reply? I imagine if you can post you should be able to reply. Thats mighty strange!
As for houses, Perm is definitely opinionated so he's a good resource http://www.octoberlounge.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif (@Perm - you know we love your opinions around here!) I think the advice he gave is totally accurate.
Have you been to any houses in the area before? What kind of Haunt do you like? Do you want to go to an indoor haunt or an outdoor haunt? Do you like a specific theme?
Its hard to predict what will be great this year, but I think that pretty much every house has positive aspects. If you want to see some cool sets and animatronics you could try Reinke Bros in Littleton. If you like outdoor Haunts there are many - Field of Corpes, Terror in the Corn, Haunted Field of Screams....
Oh so many options, it makes me gush! I love you Halloween! http://www.octoberlounge.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif http://www.octoberlounge.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif http://www.octoberlounge.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif

I liked hauntplex last year. If you want to go to three haunted houses without driving in between then its perfect!

There is a thread for Hauntplex - but I'll bite anyhow!
I really liked Hauntplex last year... And the more I think about it the more I can't wait to go back. I think it really was one of the more innovative spaces. Particularly because (I'm pretty certain this is the case) 2 of the 3 Houses are not permanent fixtures. Like the Asylum they put up all these elements in a parking lot. And damned if its not impressive!
I remember being really struck by the use of space there. I don't want to give stuff away, but there were caverns, cages, tunnels, shit coming down from above. It was cool. I think most of that was in the Primitive Fear Haunt???? But I'm not sure.
Last year my only gripe was the acting, but it was seriously the first or second night of opening weekend. Soooooooo sometimes its hard to get psyched up on a slow night and I 100% understand.
Hauntplex was very good in my opinion. I'd recommend checking it out.

I'd wait on choosing your third until the attractions are all open. That way you can see what the buzz is around here and get a good variety of opinions before you decide. I think your choices thus far are solid!

It really depends on what your looking for. Set Design? Scare Factor? Length? Indoor or outdoor?
I always liked Field of Corpses and Murray's Massacre. Both have awesome set designs with creative scares, albeit Murray's is a bit shorter than FoC. Asylum doesn't have the set design like these other two, but I think they have mastered the use of strobes, the dark, and a few more expensive props to create a definite unnerving and scary experience. Frightmare also has a very creative set design and is longer than most. Have a kid? Bring 'em to Reinke Bros where both of you can enjoy their
There's definitely a little something for everyone out there.

I did the Asylum Last year. It was pretty scary cause it was just me and my other friend in there with no one else even in line. No kids so im looking for a LOOOONNNGGG scary ass haunt.
Oh Ive also done frightmare twice. So anything like murrays or something. Oh and NO spider mansion. That place always sucks.

Waiting is a good idea because a haunt that was amazing last year could be completely lame this year. But if you want to figure out which places to go to ahead of time; field of corpses has always been and good one and the Haunted Mansion is always a classic choice. Also, I've heard 13th Door is amazing.

I was thinking about 13th door. Is it true you have to go in alone though?

Oh, I love the rumors that get started around this place. No, 13th door doesn't make you go in alone, I think whoever gave you that bit of info. probably got their wires crossed with the infamous 13th floor haunted house that their cousins best friends brother went to.
As for FOC, hopefully they got itt together this year and purchased some radios to improve communications so that you don't have to wait in line for an hour to buy tickets and then get turned away because they're "sold out." Sore subject? Hell yes. I'm sure Field of Corpses kicks a$$, everyone says they do so they're probably not wrong but they've been doing this for how long? And they don't know when they sell out yet? I know the get more than screwed by covenant regulations but a $30 investment in some cheap radios would fix that in, like, 15 minutes plus the time to charge them.
Rant ended. I wouldn't tell you to not got to FOC, just to keep in mind to show up early and plan on it being the only one you'll see that night because it will take you all night. Again, my advice. Listen to Tye and Moodeus, go to hauntplex, they're good, they're on the same property, they're relatively cheap and you could probably get out of there in time to go see one or two more if you start early.

In regards to FoC, I sure hope they drop the guided tour bit. I find it extremely distracting to have a ghoul guide constantly distracting me throughout the walkthrough of a haunt. And it's not like i'm gonna get lost or hold up the line, cmon. Let me go through, unabated and terrified without some goofy character dumbing down the suspense. With all that said, that is really my only complaint of Field of Corpses - it truly is a great haunt with great set design and wicked actors.

I've heard that before about them, but I've also heard that's why people love FoC, for the guided tour. I'm sure it's great; just trying to give it from the vantage point of the average user who has to buy a ticket and wait in line for exorbitant amounts of time in some cases. Good point though, despite all my rants I really do want to get to it this year.

In my opinon with FOC I really enjoy the tour guide part. I feel they contribute to the idea of the haunt.
In the beginning the tour guide comes out and just stands there and stare at you as you wait to go in the haunt which always freaks me out. Also, I love it how the tour guide every year has a piece of wood and runs it across the sewer pipe as he or she skips through and then waits for us to walk through it.
One other thing with FOC I have found that they have some of the most original ideas. But I tend to go to the same haunted houses year after year so I don't know that for sure. But for some of you who went a couple years ago i'm sure you remembered the spider guy.
Either way, with tour guide or with out FOC will always be a good one. You can never go wrong with a haunted house ran by excited high school kids vs. the sometimes irritable adults
