My choice in music has a lot to do with what kind of mood I'm in at the time. I'm usually quite content to listen to Billie Holiday or Ella Fitzgerald, though. Some things are just timeless.
When I'm drawing I like to listen to Aphex Twin, Death Cab for Cutie, Stereolab, Pet Shop Boys, Eurythmics, eels...'kinda like to mix it up with some Mozart, Verdi (especially Four Sacred Pieces) , just whatever strikes me at the time. I find it difficult to relate to most Rap, so you won't find that in my player, ummm, dawg.
I think that wind-chimes sound great.
I have two modes: Heavier Mode and Lighter Mode. A few of my favorites from the heavier side include Nine Inch Nails, Slipknot, KoRn, Demon Hunter, Rob Zombie, Evanescence, Meshuggah, and System of a Down. On the lighter side, some of my favorites are Plumb, Tremolo, and Alanis Morissette.

My heavier side would be Sex Pistols and Social Distortion...and my lighter side would be Mozart or Verdi. Hmph.

Speaking of 70s music, what about Gordon Lightfoot's "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald"? I LOVE that one. Also, since almost everybody seems to dislike country, just thought I'd own up to the fact that I like Chris Isaak, Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris, Roseanne Cash and her old man-and quite a few others. Not all of country is of the "Git 'r' done", NASCAR-lovin' variety. Don't close your minds, people. You'll miss out on a lot of great things.

Dooooood! This is one of those questions I answer poorly consistently and differently whenever someone asks. So today's answer.....
Going to see We Are Scientists tonight! So in the "indie" world it's: Postal Service, Pavement, Modest Mouse, Wolf Parade (that concert was not awesome though), Mogwai, God Speed You Black Emperor, Folk Implosion and other stuff....
I also love me some folky tunes which is rad cause me and my Daddio share that... David Wilcox, Dar Williams, Shawn Colvin, Cry Cry Cry, Hem, and for lack of a better genre placement Johnny Cash
And then theres the beat the shit out of people and or punk music.... NIN, TOOL, Rage Against the Machine, System of a Down, Soundgarden, Rancid, The Donnas.....
and Garbage because Shirley Manson is a hotty!
And yes I love KS107.5 because who doesn't want to listen to songs about Promiscious Boys and Girls, Slapping that Ass, Shaking the Money Maker and whatever other awesome conceit comes out of hip hop.

speaking of good music. I just looked over the Soundtrack list for Saw III. I didnt care bout most of whats on there, but Walk with Me in Hell by Lamb of God made it, so im a happy camper.
And nightwish did a killer PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. That was cool.
Try to tear me down

Yeah, Nightwish's "Phantom of the Opera" is outstanding. The techno version of Sarah Brightman's original Phantom is way cool as well. If you like one you'd almost certainly like the other.
Oh, and I agree; screw country

woah I dated a guy who loved Dream Theater and Joe Satriani... oh the memories. We saw Dream Theater in Barcelona and it didn't make me like them any more... but to each his own. I can respect Dream Theater for the skill they have both writing and playing music. Impressive, but just not my style.
I do however support the Black Sabbath/Ozman love. We named our dog after Ozzy. http://www.octoberlounge.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif
