Dude, think about it. There are something like 20 haunted houses. Some of these places just opened a few nights ago.
If the reviewers went to, say, three haunts a night, it would still take them 7 nights to go to all the haunts. Let's say that they just magically have no life whatsoever and have 7 nights in a row completely available. Still won't work, because some of the haunts are only open weekends. So they probably haven't even been to all of the haunts yet, and if they have, that's incredible.
Then they have to actually write their reviews, and then it all has to get built into the website.
AND the reviewers are volunteers. So maybe let's not give them crap about it.
I think we're lucky that they publish the reviews in time for Halloween week at all. Some haunted house review sites in other states don't even publish their reviews until after the season is over. People in those states have to base their 2007 choices on the 2006 reviews. How bad would that suck?

Thank you very much for the support, Shade! (I too am anxious to read the reports, I know what I wrote, no mystery there. But I do look forward to reading my co-critics opinions.) You are very right, it does take time to get it all in a row... and the people volunteering their personal time have a lot on their plates. 8 reviewers, 16 houses so far... that's 128 reviews to edit and get posted, and we're not done yet. So all you haunt-hounds out there salivating, thank you for your patience.... and understanding! http://www.octoberlounge.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

We really got off on the wrong foot. I really apologize about the other web site stuff. I guess i was just frustrated about this very thing. Back on topic, why publish them after season? So that for the next year, after a lot of the houses have changed. the people will go to what was best the previous year? Then if one of the lower end haunted houses is rated poorly then gets amazing the next year they won't have much business. I'm not saying that HD is doing bad, your right, that would really suck, for haunt go-ers and the haunts them selves, that is if they are willing to do the work to make there haunt better for the next year.

As the former editor in years past, I can completely understand how much work it is. At least you have (for the most part, I think) people who can construct proper sentences. A few years ago, I had a team mostly made up of people who were a blast and had great perspectives, but couldn't make use of proper spelling or grammar to save their lives. I hope you're faring better this year!
