I have been an avid haunted house fan for a long time now, and have spend valuable dollars for good thrill and vise versa, but I wanted to post a couple of thoughts about what I think makes a good haunted house.

Darkness: the fear that you dont know whats around the next corner
Pneumatics: Hanging and electric chair anamatronics
Strobe lights: slow speed that make light hard to see where you are going
Gore: I love body parts and blood
Special Effects: is someone missing half their torso legs in a hole in the table
Realistic: I like to be scared about things that can really happen, I.E. Hospital scenes, prisions, car wrecks. Themes really, something that makes sense or has a plot.

Some past haunted houses have had an elevator that floor drops out and falls over on the side, things like that are very amusing. I like the unknown, not just a person screaming in a room, ya know.

What about you? What makes you like a haunted house?
