As a result of Labrynth and the original Brutal Planet it took me about 8 years to get the courage to venture back into a haunt again. I don't know if it was because I was so young that I just remember it being much better than it was but I'm almost positive there was a quality to these haunts that's difficult to rival (and rivaled they are). Does anyone here remember these? Thinking about its making me nostalgic.

Well, I don't remember those, but I remember Alien Terror way back in 94. There was a big Audry II plant at the entrance, which prevented me from going in. (come on, I was 4!) Then I went to The 25th Hour back in 03 and loved it, there was also Chuckle's Dungeon next to it, that was sweet as well. Then tomorrow I'll be going to CarnEvil and Dead Before Dawn with a bunch of friends. I'm a little apprehensive about it, (I'm a pussy. http://www.octoberlounge.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif) but I'm sure we'll all have fun.

Brutal Planet in its heyday was absolutely unbelievable. Primitive Fear used to be pretty cool, too, but I feel like they've sacrificed too much trying to stretch a $15 attraction into a $45 triple-attraction.

Wow I actually started my haunting back at the Labrynth. THat was 13 years ago. I also worked at Brutal Planet that first year it was at Northglenn. Its amazing thinking back to where it all started for me.

The original Brutal Planet was a piece of art. I feel it has pretty much gone down hill since it was moved to elitches. The same with the starland haunts. They all used to be really good, but have just been going way down for quite some time now. I am holding out hope that some day the glory of the 90's will return to the haunt industry but I am not holding my breath either.

Ok, I know that I’m getting old but remember these.
The one at the old Celebrity’s sports center.
Scream In The Dark at U-Hills. I think it caught fire?
I forget the in at Tamarac Square… Not the Castle one.
Heck even the Wash Park boat house had 1 for about 2 years.

I liked Brutal Planet when was at Northglenn but it was better the next year when it was near the Coliseum. Unfortunately I never got to see the Labyrinth when it was there but I heard that it was really good.

Ok, so Brutal Planet came from Northglen, that's a fact. Is it true that Alice Cooper helped put it on? Then, I've noticed that last year, not sure about this year, that other six flag parks used brutal planet as a name. Is this because it's kind of like the "christmas tree lighting cermony" for Haloween, where everyone must have this haunt because of the sucess it had in other states? Then, is Alice Cooper still involved in Brutal Planet? Then, wasn't Nightmare Factory once at Northglen and owned by the same people who own Frightmare before it moved to Boondocks under new ownership? Can anyone clarify these questions, I wanna know. These are all just based off of word of mouth and rumors that I've heard over the years.

If I'm not mistaken, the Alice Cooper piece came after Brutal Planet already been running for a while. I think it may have been a cooperative sponsorship, but I don't know that he had any personal involvement with it other than the fact that they slapped his name and face on the advertisements, probably for both spooky factor and perceived credibility.

At some point, Six Flags (if I understand correctly) basically bought the Brutal Planet haunted house in Denver and replicated in its other parks. I was wondering if the haunt at Elitch's would still be called Brutal Planet now that Elitch's has sold Six Flags, and apparently it's still got the same name. I don't think Alice Cooper has had any affiliation with it for years, though.

As for Nightmare Factory/The Asylum, I remember Nightmare Factory being at the Thornton Town Center for a couple of years before moving to Boondocks. The front page of The Asylum's website says, "From the creators of Nightmare Factory" so I think that answers that part of your question.

yes the nightmare factory was at thornton town center. Originally owned by the guy who runs Terror in the corn. The asylum guys partnered up with him the last season there and then went seperate ways. I know this cause I worked there.

Alice cooper, was only part of BP when it was at Northgleen mall the first 2 years,he would go down there on opening night and sign.He had nothing to do with the house,he was just a paid celeb.I asked him when he was there the first year,if he helped with the house,he hadent even been through it.I did like BP the first year it was more art then a scary,I liked it cause it was different.

I really miss the Labyrinth. I remember it being super long, with a cool story and a guide that gets wacked after a few minutes. Then going through the meat locker with the butcher trapped behind a cage and he finally gets it open to chase you really freaked me out when I was 15. The really big thing at the end that chased everyone out of the haunt kicked butt also.
