Here are my guesses. I'm basing this on various feedback I've read here on the boards, but I haven't been to any haunts yet this year, so these aren't necessarily synonymous with how I would rate them. On ones I couldn't decide, I tried to think back to previous years for help. I hope to see some surprises, though.

9.5 Frightmare
9.5 Brutal Planet
9.5 Murray's Massacre
9 The Asylum
9 Field of Corpses
8.5 Scream Park
8.5 13th Street Manor
8.5 Haunted Mansion
8.5 Spider Mansion
8.5 Haunted Field of Screams
8 Terror in the Corn
8 Primitive Fear
7.5 The Chilling Hour
7 Curse of Slaughterhouse Gulch
7 Realm of Terror
7 Screams
6.5 Carnevil
6.5 13th Door
6 Dead Before Dawn

I'm taking a guess that Haunted Field of Screams will be #1, followed by Murray, Frightmare, Asylum, and Scream Park. The Last place I'm guessing will be Spider Mansion followed by Carnevil. Here's why. Haunted Field of Screams (I've never been there) has gotten better ratings every year since HD began, the same goes with Murrary. Frightmare is a given, along with Asylum. Scream Park since they combined last year into one. Oh, and FOC, they have to be up towards the top as well. I believe that these will always be in the top 10 every year. These haunts proove that changing up the set every year, while keeping some old favorites, along with focussing on actor based scares, is 100% possible. The bottom two because Spider Mansion (based off the posts) hasn't changed their set in years, and Carnevil because they have never gotten a good score since HD began. These haunts proove that changing up sets is a most, and that animatronics suck when used heavily.

Those are interesting thoughts. I think you might be right on some of those, and I'm really intrigued by your analysis. I would be really surprised to see Haunted Field of Screams come out on top, but it's true that it has gotten better every year, so I suppose anything's possible.

That would be cool. Is their haunt a 9-star attraction this year? Do they still do the daytime-lights-on thing for kids?

I think it's a 9 star-er. I do work there, but I'm honestly not being biased. Our actors are amazing this year, and the house looks incredible...(we've changed half of it). But yes, we still do the lights on tours on Saturdays and Sundays from 10-1. $5 per person.

Cool. My kids are still little and they think that they like haunted houses, but they honestly have no idea. I need something that I can tell them is a haunted house but that won't give them nightmares, and I think the lights-on tour would be perfect.

Since the scores are posted I'll reply a bit more to the Reinke statements. It is really good this year. I think its changed a lot from last year, but still maintains some of my favorite elements from the past. I heard that Murray's also does a daytime attraction, but I'd honestly rather see Reinke in the day. It's like Disneyland for Haunt lovers. Murrays was obviously good on the whole, but I think thats cause its dark with good acting.

For the record, I counted 9 right in your guesses...so that's like half of them.

I think the haunts, overall, really stepped it up this year. I was most pleased by the improvements at Murray's and Haunted Mansion. Not that they were very low last year, just that I think they kicked it up.

I'm heading back to both this weekend (if I can fit them both in). So excited!!!

Here's to hoping the reviews get up soon so you can see why we liked what we did (and what we didn't like, too).

I am as happy as Tammy's bank account before the scandals! It is Friday night, the weather is good, the ratings are up and the Hustle was playing at Walmart today. DO THE HUSTLE! Oh my, I looked around the store and wondered if anyone was in a daze like I was. I wanted to go over to the plumbing section and grab the large plunger and just start hustling it around the store.

I fricken broke it down right there in the cosmetics section as I was looking for wax lip gloss. Heck with the lipstick, if you are going Tammy style, just wax them with red wax.

Oh what a weekend we have in store for you Haunted House Fanatics.

We'vvvv got a little treat for ya!!!!!

Come on out and show your support for the freaks and scary creatures! Bring out your dead!

I'm not sure, but I think Milker just exploded!!!

I've been feeling that way all day...we're going shopping at Reinke Brothers, probably hit up Haunted Mansion again...maybe Murray's, going to Nightmare Before Christmas in 3D...and to top it off, I'm listening to the soundtrack and Jack's singing, "What's This?" AND I just bought a Jack Skellington ornament at Hallmark (he's dressed as Sandy Claws!!)...

I think I just exploded, too!!!!

It IS a perfect night for it!

Hahahahha.....I convinced a guy back in the 80's that they were singing, "Do the hacksaw", and made up a sawing action dance to go with it. To this day, he STILL thinks that's what the song is called!!

I tell you what, I have not had a Scanners episode today, but I just might after watching this video.

Now prepare yourself for this. It is not going to be easy. You need to practice and make sure you part the chest hair and have the gold chain going down the middle of the strategically placed chest growth.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TsRdkrxl4g

I so want to make a spoof video on this with Zombies doing the hustle.

Ok, I have to go get stretched out for tonights big scares

NOW "DO IT" do the Haunted House HUSTLE!
