This haunt totally kicked but. We went on 10/18, and we did both the haunted maze and the school of screams. To begin, we started out in the haunted maze. Then we ventured into the school of screams.

The haunted maze was a great starting point. We waited over an hour (and we got there right when the opened) to get in. Let me say this, I've never seen a haunt do such great misdirection in quite a while. This haunt made you think something was comming from over there, when something was actually coming from right next to you. They really stepped up the set design this year, and I would highly recommend doing this if the line is short, and to do this one first. The reason being it easily sets you up for what is to come. Oh, and on a side note, there are 2 chainsaws here, and they both flooded, so that sucked, but nothing you could really do from an actor perspective. I do have to say that the last chainsaw did it perfectly. He flooded his chainsaw, but didn't say anything or make any movement. He just waited a second for the next group and scared the crap out of them. Overall, great haunt with the combo price. Actors could use a little help, but it was still great.

Then on to the school of screams. To begin, we walk through this bus, with this pretty neato bus driver. He really gets you in the mood. All I have to say that the scares inside this bus really get you in the mood, and they are very creative. Then it was inside we went. Here we encountered a lot of crazy actors. The ones that stook out o me were the ones in the bathroom, the scientist, the cafeteria cook, the teacher, the girl at the end, and the cross dresser. All of these actors, excpet the girl at the end, really were into their roles. They followed us quite a ways, and they really knew how to scare me. Speaking about scarring me, they did an amazing job with this. From start to finish, I was shaking in fear. I knew something was going to pop out, but when. They did an amazing job at anticipation, as well as scaring you in unusual ways, such as the wobbly floors. The set was believable, I felt like I was walking through a bathroom, or a locker room, or a boiler room. However, in between sets I felt like I was walking inbetween sets. They could easily make the transition more believable, such as opening doors, or maybe school ground type looks, just to make it more believeable. At the end, lets just say that it was a death trap that had me freaked out. I loved the fact that they had body bags hanging in a dark alley, however the sudden sharp turns made of plywood wasn't so great. If I didn't have my hands in front of me, I could easily have walked into the sharp corner and come out with a bloody nose. Overall this haunt was the scariest haunt that I've been to since......scratching head............since the last time I went to Murray 2 years ago. Oh, and if you've been to Murray year after year, they changed everything up.

On our way out, we noticed that there were EMTs treating (I think) an actor. It didn't look too pretty, but the (I think) actor was concious, so that's good. I do want to mention that although there's been talk that this haunt is nothing more than a death trap, I think not. It seems that this actor ran into problems, and the problems were obviously handled correctly. They did a great job in keeping the haunt running, while having to deal with the situation in a professional manner (keeping this out of sight of incomming customers). I hope everything turns out ok, and hope to see what changes are in store for next year.

Overall, I give this haunt 6/5 stars, yes it really was that great. I felt like I was in some twisted nightmare regarding my school. Great job everyone.
