I went through the Asylum for a second (non-official) visit this past Friday with my husband and a friend. I was pleasantly pleased that the energy and intensity of the actors were back to the level I've come to expect at this haunt! There certainly seemed like there were a lot more actors than last time.
I know a few things weren't working, but if I didn't know what to expect, I would not have even noticed the difference. It also seemed a bit longer to me...but then my husband stops to look at every bit of detail on the set and props. He's usually inspecting some little bit of gore when someone jumps out at him and he yells, "OH! **explitive deleted**!!"
I wonder if another reason that I felt it was longer was because I wasn't dreading the "claustrophobe's nightmare" at the end. I had (foolishly) glanced over some reader reviews before we went and a few people mentioned that "thing at the end." I'm super claustrophobic and was thinking about it all the way through...
This time, I got caught up in the madness (heh...I'm clever) of the haunt and the fantastic actors that always seem to be VERY into their parts...I've never seen an actor at the Asylum break character...that to me speaks volumes.
If you haven't gone to this one ever, just forget where the haunt is physically located, and let your imagination run crazy (damn, I'm clever...um...not)...
