I'm always anxious to see what everyone has done for the new season. I like to see how things get changed up year after year. Some only change one thing some change a lot. It's always a rush to get in there and see what's going on. Even the haunts that are not on my top 3 list always have something new to offer. I'd love to see a brand new haunt that's out for it's first run. Got one last year, maybe this year will be the same.

I am anxious to get into makeup and have fun in scaring people. I love working for haunted houses. I must be really twisted, but I get major kicks out of watching them scream and getting scared. I love to see what is new with other houses, but to be an actor is something totally different.

About 3 years ago, some of the houses would advertise here that they were looking for people. But that has kinda fizzled out. But every house is always looking every year. The more the merrier. Some pay their actors some don't. What I get paid is all Christmas money, so I may not be as picky as others. I am in it for the fun or the thrill of it. It just depends on you and if you want to get paid or not. Some pay in other ways, that can be just as fun and are enjoyed by a lot of people. My advice is pick a house that you like and contact them to see what they offer. I have enjoyed every house that I have worked at because I work for the ones I love as a guest. It makes it a better scene, if you love the vision of the haunt owner. Some will have you audition and then only pick the ones that fit into their plan, some just take warm bodies. My first advice would be pick where you think you would have more fun at and start from there. Nothing more frustrating as an haunt operator to have actors who aren't really there in body and spirit and doesn't want to bring something to that owners vision. If you don't know where to go, or if you don't have any favorites yet, then take what you have heard here and see within yourself if you have something you could offer to any of the houses. Most actors that come here stay with one house every season, or at least hope to. I hope this helps you get started with something that is truly addicting and a major blast. Its like getting a tattoo, you can't stop at one.

I have always thought about being an actor in a haunt, but I know that once the initial buzz of scaring someone was over I'd grow tired of it and not give my best. So, I am more than content to visit all the haunts to see what they have to offer and get loads of eye candy from them all!

I admit, I get tired towards the end in many ways. But its like jelly beans, I love them during Easter, can't get enough of them, but once Easter is done, I am sick of them till next Easter.

So Welch, I have to know, simply because I think I would feel this way if I worked a haunt...at the start of the evening are you revved up and ready to go, but by night's end, getting a bit tired of the gig? I think I would be bored by the end of the night and ready to go home. Does that happen to you? And by season end are you just fried??

I do get tired toward the end of the night. More so cause I am no longer a young witch. If the night is a good night, if we have great responses and a great vibe going, then I don't feel it at much and the night goes quicker. It's harder on me when the night is dead. so to speak, or when the guests just aren't feeling it, then it brings you down more. I am probably one of the few that take a couple of Advil before I go to work. LOL. When I worked last year at Six Flags, I loved that it was only on the weekends, I was able to refresh better, it kicks my butt when I have to work every night. More so when I go from my full time job straight to the house till midnight or later. I do find myself excited when Halloween comes though, because you know its almost done. But, every season I still find myself going back for more. I am a glutton for punishment. To be a young witch again. But I find since I am older I know more tricks that help me then the youngins so it pays off.

That's cool that you can hang in there and give the scares out all season! I don't think I'd make it....It would get quiet and you'd find me sleeping in a corner in the dark. http://www.octoberlounge.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohmy.gif

I'm looking forward to seeing more Haunts this year. And now that it is announced, I thing The 13th Floor looks interesting, so I am looking forward to that.

From earlier discussions, it sounds like they are going to have a set theme and (hopefully) will stick to it throughout. I'm excited to see what they can do.
