Have any of you ever been to this house? It consistently rates as one of the best in the nation. I have a chance to go in Oct. and am wondering if it's worth it.

Absolutely. If you want to see what a top 10 haunt should be then check this out, come back to Denver and find out what constitutes saying you are a top 10 haunt. Talk to Zilla more about this one though, he knows a hell of a lot more than I do but if you want my opinion go see Rocky Pointe.

I'd love to see it if I got the chance. I'm thinking of planning a trip to see Knott's Scary Farm this year so I will also have something else to compare local haunts to.

If you're thinking of going, this would be the year to go, as owner Cydney Neil has announced that this will be Rocky Point's last Halloween season. Supposedly she'll open it again during HAuNTcon next year and then that will be the end. There was an article in the Salt Lake Tribune (I think that's the name of the paper) saying something to the effect that she decided to go out while she was at the top of her game. And she said that it's been her baby, so she wouldn't think of selling it. In my mind, that's like taking a big pile of money and setting it on fire, but hey, whatever.

If you want to see it, you better do it this year ... Rocky Point Closing Article (http://www.sltrib.com/search/ci_4034957) I've seen it once so far, and I'm flying to Salt Lake for their opening this Friday. So if you're thinking about it, time to stop thinking.

Weird, Rob must type faster than me!

I have personally seen it twice, and I can tell you it IS THE most professional Haunt I have ever seen. I went five years ago and that was the insperation for my goal to build and opperate a Huant of this caliber.
I returned during Hauntcon and Cydney was as profesional as ever, though I did get a feeling that she wasn't in it for much longer. I highly recomend the trip, I would go, and would love to see Cydney's new Pirate section of the Haunt, however I'm slammed this season, Maybe for Hauntcon next year.

I'm extreamly sorrowed to hear that Cydney won't be allowing someone to continue, however I agree with her "Bill Waterson" approach. Quit while on top, and don't let your memory be that of how the gift you've given others be turned into a shadow of what you created.

Anyone up for a round of CalvinBall

I'm thinking of roadtripping out just to see it.

How does it compare to the best haunts in Denver?

You're asking what's the difference between a prop-plane and an airliner. It's like asking how does a penny stack up to a dollar. Not same ballpark, same league or same game - this being said by some of the haunted attraction owners in Denver and not just my opinion.

Well this sounds like a good reason for a road trip.... Whose coming? How are we getting there? Does anyone have a grandma I can stay with??? Or a plane they can fly us in?

Lol, well with the planes I fly, taking "us" wouldn't be possible lol. Maybe 3 others, still more expensive than driving or taking the airlines too.

Hmm well if you're not a millionaire and taking the plane isn't saving us money we'll stick to the road trip plan. I repeat: Grandma's in Salt Lake city, anyone? Bueller?
