Adjacent to The 13th Door, and run by the same people. Dominion (the only good suggestion Kathy has heard thus far, name is still pending) is exactly what its name entitles: All Encompasing Domain. This is gonna be a lot of fun, cause its all our favorite characters. Freddy, Jason, Michael, Iknowwhatyoudid, Scream, Leatherface, Pinhead, they will all be there. And, if i get enough sheet metal and time, PYRAMID HEAD will be featured at this location to.
I'll give more information as it comes out.

You're thinking of using real metal?! You must be a glutton for punishment. I have had great success creating faux-metal with lighter weight materials. It's all about texturing, using paper and paint. I'm going to use these methods on the spacecraft that I'm building for the front lawn. I'm going to create my version of the Roswell crash site for this year's Hallowe'en display.

I agree. I would be freaked out by pyramid head I'm pretty sure. I mean I for one am tired of seeing the same old characters. The executioner, the chainsaw guy (not that I want to start on that again http://www.octoberlounge.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif ), the freaky children (which is good when pulled off but a lot of times older people can't pull off playing children realistically). I think that's one thing that seperates a haunt is just based on it's ability to be different. I mean it's great to be the best in comparison, but I love to see out of the box things, because even if it doesn't work out quite as planned it's nice to just not have anything that it reminds you of.

The "I Know What You Did Last Summer" is so lame, kinda like an evil version of the "Gorton's Fisherman". For those of you too wet behind the ears to remember, he's a...well, a fisherman (from TV commercials) who braves the elements and brings back those fish sticks that you love so much.

Hah, damn right im using Real Metal. It wouldnt have the same effect if i used anything else with my lack of...well...ANY ingenuity to create costumes. Id LOVE to make it more like a Propmaster for Silent Hill would...but im not THAT kind of smart. Toss me sheet metal, toss me a camera, a guitar, or a computer, i'll futz till i get it right. The only issues im haivng right now are getting my head IN it, stabalizing, and vision. I think the back will have a hinge so i can open it, put my head in, close it, and lock it. Im gonna put felt around the opening so i dont take a sharp turn and decapitate myself, im also thinking of putting padding inside so that way i have some form of stability so that it doesnt just jiggle around. Something that i have to squeeze my head into so that it keeps equal pressure.
As for sight, i think im gonna do it like an old school Helm and just have a slit, but that mesh stuff that the WEARER can see through but the audience cant might be good
The axe im using is real too. A carbon steel 295$ Bardiche
...I love my job.

Im going to re-iterate...SHEET METAL...that stuff doesnt get that heavy.
Second, i play lead guitar in a metal band (and this is only amped up by....)
Third, i work for UPS loading the trucks.
My back and Neck have withstood basically all sorts of punishment, they are iron clad now.
But i do thank you for the bit of concern that was in there, that was very nice of you to care for a stranger.
Or maybe you were telling me im an idiot....
...either would be fine....

I guess you've thought this through pretty completely. I've never worn a sheet metal pyramid on my head, but I was just hazarding a guess that it would be to comfy for 6 hours of scaring people. In any case more power to you if it works out.

Yes-I hope that he's paid very well for what is going to be an excruciating experience! Anything that cumbersome, which will probably weigh in at the very least five or ten pounds, is going to get really heavy after about an hour or so. Ventilation is going to be crucial. Can you imagine poor PyramidHead keeling over right in front of an audience? How embarrassing.
I'd make the headgear out of cardboard and treat it with paint to get the metallic look that is necessary...but hey, that's just me. More power to ya, pal.

mmmmmmkay, for the last time. If this WAS going to be excruciantingly shitty, id STILL do it, cause that pain would fuel different emotions to better the character development of Pyramid Head.
BUT, ive worked with sheet metal A LOT before, its MUCH thinner and lightweight than you think. Ive worn a suit of armor made of sheet metal to then Rennisance Festival, it didnt bother me one bit.
I assure you though, i will NOT fail or falter, no matter if it DOES get painful or oven hot. I will use that to push harder and be creepier.
Besides, its only every other night. The other nights i play the man in the billiard room at 13th door wearing a Jekyll Hyde outfit, so it will all balance out.
I promise you all a wonderful performance both ways.
Annie are you okay

I thought pyramid head from Silent Hill was very creepy, they just did not use him very much or for very long. It would have been much more effective if they had used him at the end to do what happened (I don't want to ruin it for those who haven't seen it yet).
Hey maybe they can make a whole series based of this guy. Wouldn't that be cool? Maybe I am just a creepy nerd who thinks about that kind of stuff. http://www.octoberlounge.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

I agree, I just saw Silent Hill the other day and Pyramid Head was awesome, if underused.
Secondly, I admire your dedication and understand that you've worked with sheet metal but hot damn, unless you are a monster of a man your clavicle doesn't particularly like supporting 25 lbs. of metal on two focal points but I will go to the haunt JUST to see this if for no other reasons.
C.) Slaughterhouse Gulch, isn't that in littleton?
And Last, back to pyramid head:
Really folks, what sort of friends will tell you this looks good?
-Tiny little white guy? CHECK
-Bigass styrofoam sword? CHECK
-Badass buckle boots? CHECK
-Red spray painted cardboard box? CHECK
http://i360.com/events/ax2005/photos/al-IMG_3286.jpg
And I will severely aplaud your efforts if you make MORE of an effort than cardboard spray painted red.
I know, random thought process sorry about that.

it really does make me happy to see that the people of this board are so full of concern. Most wouldnt be so caring. But i assure you, its not as heavy and bulky as one would think. I already have the backpiece put together and it doesnt even clock a full pound yet. I know in the pictures of Pyramid head it looks like it will weigh a ton, but i would be surprised if this thing clocks more than 10 pounds.
Even so, i AM a rather toughly built person. Leathery skin, broad shouldered, the construction kind of body. I can handle this stuff, ive handled worse.
I DID consider this all of course, and thats why i am building it in a way that will use the least amount of materials needed, so that way i can keep off as much weight as possible
I should have it done within the next 2 weeks, if not fully, at least the body will be completed. I'll post pics asap.
