I went here friday night and was excited to go and i get there and when we first go in there have this elevator and you go in and it moves like its really moving and i was like thinking this was gone to be good. Then after that it sucked because half the time your walking down hallways and nothing is going on and when you do get to a place where something is going on its not scary and you know whats going to happen and all they do is scream at you and there are maybe 10 actors. If your thinking about going then go if you want to but your wasteing your money and dont pay extra for the tunnel because i did and when i got there anyone there could go threw it.

I apologize if that happened, you should not have had to pay for the Freakshow on opening night.

I went here last night. you pay five extra dollars for the freakshow and while the haunt is good the freakshow is a waste of money. There was a bearded lady and a hillbilly that tried to scare you. It was pretty weak, I thought the haunt itself was decent.

ChrisSmith,
Sorry to hear you didn't have a good time.
More importantly, if you paid extra for the sideshow and others were going in for free, you are owed an apology and refund. When we opened Friday there was some confusion from the ticket takers, we didn't get to the bottom of it for a while and many ended up going through the sideshow without paying for it. This problem got resolved. If you would like to message me, let me know when you can come by, I will gladly refund your $5.
Whether it's 5 cents or 5 bucks, you should get what you pay for, and not be overcharged for something you shouldn't have been.
As far as your disappointment in 13th Floor, maybe we could talk about it when you come by, I'd be curious to hear some specifics from you. Sounds like you're an avid haunt goer, in which case opening haunt, opening night, may not have been the best idea, but I appreciate your excitement to come check it out, and value input from haunt enthusiasts like you.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Chris
Hauntfreak,
Glad you had a good time, let me give you a little information on what our plan for the sideshow was.
It's kinda like line entertainment, in the form of a small side attraction which includes a Vertigo Tunnel. Many attractions charge around $5 just to walk through a tunnel. We didn't want to do that, we wanted to offer a "sideshow" in addition for $5, so that you got a better value for your money. You go through it while you're waiting inside, we thought it would help pass the time as you wait, and give you something fun to do. It's not designed to be overly scary, but entertaining, to help pass the time.
Something that hasn't been done here before, so it may take some time for people to get used to.
Once again, glad you enjoyed 13th Floor, and although it may appear that way on the boards here, I can assure you, you're not alone.

No problem Chris, right is right.
Send me a pm with your name and address, and I will get a check refunded to you for the Sideshow.
In your pm I would also be curious about your specific thoughts on what you liked, and didn't.

We went here about 2 weeks ago and really did not enjoy it. We took about 6 of our friends with us and we all spent so much money for a big hype on a haunt that was not at all scary or entertaining...
We all thought that the half naked dancers in the beginning was a little unneccessary considering there were a lot of young people there and adults that were going for a good scare. It just really off-putted the mood. When you walk in, the elevator was pretty cool because it was all bumpy and scary... but when you get off the elevator (it wasn't really an elevator by the way) you end up going through a house that takes about 10 mins to get through and there is only some interesting props.. but the actors dont say anything and dont try to scare you at all. Really, we were all just walking around lookin at props... was not what we expected. over priced and just did not feel like a haunt... sorry to say...
Go to Anderson Farms if your lookin for a good haunt. Was definitely the best one so far. Will put up a review here in the next couple of minutes.

Oddly enough, that is the first negative comment I have heard so far about the line entertainment.

That is unfortunate, i've been there a few times and they've always had a full staff and I did not think it was predictable at all

IMHO when people go to haunts they expect to see Universal Studios type set design and effects. We have to be realistic about several things:
1. Haunts are live shows. Anything that can happen in there, will. Good, bad or otherwise.
2. Local haunt owners do not have the multi-million dollar budgets that studios have and thus set design may lack in some areas.
3. First year haunts are always hit or miss. it's the first year, new set, new props, new crew. It's like sports teams, it takes time to get every detail hammered out.
4. Even if a haunt lacks in some areas, every haunt has something for everyone. I have never been to a haunt that didn't impress me in some way. You have to look beyond the immediate scene and appreciate the energy and creativity involved. There are so many small details that so many haunt visitors miss.
5. What one person likes another may hate. Can't please everyone all the time.
