Did any of you guys get caught up in the drama of Project Greenlight ? I sure did-and I can't wait to see the finished product, which promises to be really stylish and suspenseful. Maybe this will be the beginning of a great career for an exciting new directorial talent.
The monsters look fantastic, judging from the few stills that have been released-and the poster artwork.

Why? Is there some kind of PRIZE involved?
If that's the case-I hope that it's ca$h!

Well, you're way ahead of me, your Royal Witchliness. I just wanted to talk about Feast, because it promises to be the gorefest of the year -but I guess I'll have to wait until it hits the local bijous. I wonder if I'm the only cat amongst us that watched the final season of Project Greenlight?
Your pet, eh? I wonder if that means you'll do the responsible thing and have him neutered...heh!

Nah.. I like him the way he is. If I do he might settle down and be quiet and that would be too weird. I enjoy him more like he is.

Yeah I watched it, I really liked the director I just wish this hadn't been handed over to Dimension. They don't produce very good horror movies in my opinion, especially creative ones. I heard though it's only playing one night at select theatres and then going to DVD, so that's where I'll probably end up seeing it.

Yeah, what in Blue Blazes is up with that release? (I read that it's going to be a one-time midnight showing). Still, if it plays locally I'll be there-and if any of you are up for it, let's make an outing of Feast. Has anyone heard whether or not Denver's slated to screen this film?
The movie biz is a screwy thing indeed.

It's next Monday at the Esquire!
Even if I don't get free tickets, I'll be there.
Thanks a lot, Tye.

Thanks, Jason. I didn't get out of work in time to see it last Monday-and I had two free tickets. Bummer, huh?

I got the same news about this weekend, sadly tommorrow night Dj Krush is playing at the Fox in Boulder so I can't make it.
Speaking of gore fests though, when you say that I think of 'The Hills Have Eyes' which realy turns me ff horror films, poor plot, sad acting, rdiculous blood...pitiful expeirence

I finally got to see Feast last night-and well, frankly, I'm disapppointed . The restraints of a low budget and sloppy editing almost ruined it for me. Now that furiously shaking the camera so that the viewer has NO CLUE as to what's happening is in style (thanks, Blair Witch, Saw,etc.) there were many moments of just thinking "Huh!? What the frak just happened?"
I'd love to know what John Gulager thinks of the finished product, because I have no doubt that with more money and creative freedom that he could've done something much more impressive with his talent. There were brief glimpses of real panache on display.
The screenplay had a few tricks up its sleeve, mostly due to unexpected turns that completely shattered the situations and character reactions that we've become accustomed to ( i.e. bored with). The attempts at humor usually fell flat in my opinion, some of the dialogue was groan-inducing.
As for the monsters, well, you never actually get a decent look at any of them. My impression is that they are big ,drippy, ambulatory buffalo-skeletons wearing ratty carpets. Oh, and they have TEETH, lotsa teeth. Like I said, the camera had a serious case of the DTs.
There are plenty of issues I'd like to be specifically critical about, but that'd fall under the category of spoilers-and some of you may still want to see this film. Feast was a mixed treat-or-treat bag-and I found waaaay too many rocks in my plastic jack o' lantern.
I came away with the feeling that the money and time ran out for this project and that the Money People just wanted to "get it out there".
Sorry, I am rather bummed out at the moment.

Robeau-
Sorry you were disappointed, since it sounded like you were pretty excited about it...not being a big horror film fan, I don't have anything to add. I just wanted to comment on your use of:

Thanks for the consolation, Scarica. I like old school Battlestar Galactica, with the super- shiny Cylons. Where's Muffet the Daggit, fer cryin' out loud? That poor chimpanzee, though.
