Dear Mr. Obama,

Now that America is celebrating the arrival of change, I was wondering if you could please make haunted house tickets tax-deductible, or perhaps provide some sort of government subsidy that allows haunted houses to make all of their tickets cost $1. If it's not too much trouble, please do this before October 1, 2009. Thank you.

Best regards,
Shade

We also need subsidies for people purchasing Halloween props or materials to build haunts/props. I spent so damn much this year, I could use a little relief.

Unfortunately Rob, I don't see any tax breaks on too much in the immediate future. I've been wrong before, but probably not this time.

You're right, we have trillions in debt to start paying off after January 20th.

Tye,

The October Lounge is not a place to gloat :)

Don't worry we'll have high enough taxes now to pay that bad boy down, we just won't have economic growth to worry about, growth is hard to handle you know.

I wouldn't worry about taxes unless you make over $200,000 individually or $250,000 family. And if you're making that much, you shouldn't be worrying about money at all.

Amen to that! If I was making that kind of money I'd be far more dangerous than I am now!

Allright, allright, before this conversation gets too political, I think everyone is just making snide comments, let's keep it that way, and avoid any blowouts!

So here's another, IF it's only those individuals making over 200,000, what's the reasoning? Why is that justified? Shouldn't just be proportionate, across the board?

So bringing this back on topic of haunt related discussions, next year we're changing our pricing structure, the more you make the more you pay! We had several professional athelete's come through this year, I'd love to see the ticket booth say, based on your yearly income, your admission tonight is $5,798 aren't you glad you're so successful?

Just kidding on all of the above.

Guess it's no real secret which way I was voting this year, but in the end, as with many americans, I'm anticipating the change that's coming, whether I agree with it or not, something needs to be done, so let's get on with it and see how everything shakes out. There's excitement in the air, kinda like in September :)

I like that Chris....Based on your income, your admission is.......just charge a percentage of their annual income. That means if I went through right now, I'd go for free!!! YIPPEE!!!

That's pretty funny. My wife and I had a good laugh about this on the way into town this morning. She said, "Bring your check stubs, people. Bring your check stubs."

I can just see this unfolding at the ticket booth. "Did you bring an income verification letter from your employer? No? Well, you've indicated you have an annual income of only $2,000, but I saw that limo that you and your friends just arrived in. Do you have other income you're not reporting? No? Well, something doesn't add up here. I'm afraid we're going to need to see your last three years of federal income taxes so we can figure out how much your haunted house ticket should cost. Next?"
