Yes, I spelled the name right. I watched this film last night at the theater and I really enjoyed it. Now, it is not a horror film, it is a WWII era film about a small group of men that go around and exterminate Nazi's. Written and directed by Quentin Tarantino, this is a WWII version of Pulp Fiction. The movie is LONG...nearly 2 1/2 hours, but it goes by so quick you hardly notice the time.
Brad Pitt has a great role that he does well as the leader of the "Basterds" and he demands that each one of his soldiers bring him the scalps of 100 Nazi's. The killing scenes were very graphic and included up close and personal scalpings. Then there's the guy that's known as the "Jew Bear" and does some serious damage with a baseball bat. Authenticity in the scenes was great! There were people, guys included, in the theater that were gasping and covering their eyes. It was awesome!!
Witty, sharp writing made this a great end of summer film to catch. The ending dragged just a bit, but in the end, out of 5 stars I have to give it a 4.
