Went to all of these last night. Granted it was a Tuesday and probably not fully staffed but the winner was, by far, 13th Manor. The actors were truly acting utilizing dialogue and story line. I really enjoyed:
****SPOILER****
The child's room. The actor on the bunk beds was creepy and elicited a startle reflex from me. This is usually difficult to do. Also, the person under the bed in the master bedroom was fabulous! We enjoyed the props, actors, and scares. Good job 13th Manor.

This was my first year for Primitive Fear and while a unique concept, I just didn't feel it with the actors. Too many utilized the startle scare and without the possibility of dialogue as they seem to all be non-verbal, it just lost something for me. I did enjoy the claustrophobic feeling and the very dark areas. Also the feeling of being trapped at times. But as far as being truly scared, it just didn't hit the mark with me. I was impressed by the animatronics and the actors worked very hard.

Second year for me to attend Frightmare. The best actor by far was the redneck who gave us a lantern to use through part of the haunt. This was unique and I enjoyed the interaction. However, I was very disappointed. There were too many dead spots and the last room is ridiculous. So Frightmare is off my list for next year unless I hear that major changes have been made. It's too bad because I respect the heck out of the actors who are there but need more than a scream to scare me.
