Got to check out Frightmare, one of my old favorites, on Saturday night. They did some cool new stuff, lots of new caves in the beginning (at least new since the last time I went a few years ago). They had changed up the layout pretty substantially, which kept me guessing. My favorite character was a huge bird up on a perch that startled the hell out of me. I had heard that the end was cool and I was actually a bit disappointed with that; I think the success of that room depends on an overabundance of fog, which wasn't really possible since groups were running through so close together that the door was constantly open. And it was late at night, so I think that some of the actors were too tired to do much more than growl. But the set design is excellent, particularly the lighting, and the scares are solid. Loved the monster with the huge hands, the claustrophobic silo, and especially the hunchback at the beginning. Frightmare is as good as it ever was and well worth checking out.
