I did not, but I can say that whatever was shown on television does not do it justice if you think it didn't look scary. All is not as it appears on television. This is a great haunt with lot's to offer.

still, it looked as boring as the asylum did last yr, and every yr after that. my opinion tho..

I had just finished watching it. They were focusing more on the people outside the haunt then inside. and also they did Blood Shed too. It didnt really do it justice but 13th Floor can be so much better.

Yeah....tv just isn't the same as real life. Cameras going through with lights on will ruin the effect of every haunt.

yeah and twisted fairy tales and city of dead arent all that great from what others are saying either.....blah blah blah ps I have no clue really just said that as a precusor to below.
you dont want to be called out or this to be a hostile place yet you as someone affiliated with a haunt/haunts will post something like this, but cry when you get called out about other things in reagrds to what you say. hmmm

In defense of all haunts, all owners.....I have watched countless shows about haunts and even the ones that I have seen for myself and was very impressed by, looked terrible on television. It's like doing a lights on tour of a haunt for the kids. Turn the lights on, everything looks pretty innocuous, turn them off, the scares are there. Lighting is key to a haunts effectiveness.
Film crews come in with good intentions, but so far, no one has perfected filming a haunt and showing it's true set design. And remember, film crews also cut and splice scenes together which makes them look less than what they are. Television is a HUGE injustice to any haunt, period.
Don't judge a haunt by it's looks on television. 13th Floor is very good, very dark and has some awesome effects and scares. If it looks lame on TV it is because it is the film crews' cameras washing everything out. Add editing and shot splicing into the mix and yeah, haunts look bad. Do yourself a favor, lovestobescared, (Could your user name be ANY closer to mine???) see it in person before you judge it or any other haunt seen on tv.

WOW,could you two (Mr-scary, and Luv2) be any ruder?? Isant this site for reviews and thoughts on denvers haunted houses? No wonder why there are arguments, and problems with HD, because it has ppl like you attacking anoyone and anything who post anything.
And as for you Mr-scary, thank you for calling out the 2 hauntedhouses that are better then yours.
The travel channel is a place where people can go to see what and where they would like to go for different seasons, so i can judge the 13th floor by what I see. It was boring, and i would wanna go there by what i saw.

Yes his/her name is very close to yours but that is besides the point. I've seen haunts that look AMAZING on tv, and though im sure the 13th floor is a good haunt, if he's decided that what he saw isnt for him, why do we have to be soo mean about that? The tv is a good way to decide if u want to go or not, just as your reviews are. but the tv is visual where reviews arent. and since we dont have any reviews to go by right now, i feel like watching that show wouldn't be a bad way to decide weather or not youd like to pay your hard earned cah on a haunt. Dont be so quick to judge someone you two.

I'm not trying to be rude to you, I simply pointed out the fact that what we see on tv and how it looks is a far cry from what it is in real life. The commercials and video of the 13th Gate in Baton Rouge look pretty darn crappy and it's the number one haunt in the country. If there is enough visually for you on tv to give you the idea, that's great, and if it works for you, that's great also. I was merely trying to say that all may not be what it appears. That's all.

I wasn't judging anyone, merely pointing out what I stated above. I'm not being mean, just being factual.

They're just being like that because lovestobescared works at another local haunted house. There is an unwritten etiquette (that no one seems to follow) that if you work at a haunted house and you visit (or don't visit) another haunted house, you should come online and bad mouth it (except for those haunted houses located in the south, that seems to be ok). It only makes you look unprofessional and destroys your credibility.

i have been to alomost all the haunts in the denver metro area. And if they dont like me judging the haunts, then they should not be working for a site that judges. And It doesnt matter if i do or do not work with a haunt, i know my stuff, and what I see. And if ther is this "unwritten etiquette" then y is ok for other to bad mouth me and my reviews. this site is to bias..

Well, we know that virtually everyone here has something to do with a haunt one way or another....do we even have any actual users here that just like haunts?? I don't know anymore.
Anyway, I'm really not trying to be a hag to anyone, I'm usually the peace keeper. I got fired up by some remarks that the critics' team is biased and somehow involved in all of the haunt politics on another thread and it made me mad, really mad. I carried it over to this thread to a degree and I'm sorry for that.
It would be lovely if anyone involved with a haunt could show appreciation for what other haunt owners/actors are doing. Everyone busts their tail this time of year, it shows in the haunts. How about some brotherly love in the industry...or is it too late for that? It would be nice to see friendly competition out there, not mud slinging. Is everyone so jaded that being nice just can't be acheived?
Just my thoughts....now, let's have some hot chocolate, build a fire, hug and sing Kumbaya together, shall we?

I am not biased and neither is the critics' team. I was merely trying to state my view. Again, per my previous post, I am sorry if my frustration for the team has carried over here. Now, how about that hot chocolate??

I am sorry if I came off as a jerk....I'm not that way, I'm really not. I'm frustrated, that's not your fault. Haunt politics have been a part of every season and this year is no exception. It just gets old. The team takes a pretty big beating every season based on what the current politics are and we have NOTHING to do with it, nor do we want to. We do our thing and do reviews. Whatever spat owners/actors are having is their business and we don't want any part of it. We're critics, we're unbiased and we would love to be left out of the fray. :)

holy crap...did you not understand the written english language or do you just like to skip over the important parts of messages to you?
I already said I really dont give a flying you know what if someone works for another haunt or not...what gets me mad is when they pose as a non haunt worker and bad mouth another haunt...as i clearly proved you were before the mysterious outage and now lost threads.
If you would have came out with 1st post and said ok i do work a haunt etc etc I would not care 1 bit and wouldnt be posting half the stuff I do about you, but you clearly tried to attack my point of views on top of trying to hide who you are, again I proved you wrong and exposed that you are affiliated with another haunt.
THAT IS MY PROBLEM WITH YOUR POSTS!!

~Passing another cup of hot chocolate to you~
Apology accepted...but really no need to do so. I was mad and defending the team and it carried over here as I said before. I just posted a novel in another thread that sums up my feelings on the issue, so I won't repeat it here with this exception:
Haunt owners/crews, please try to bring some dignity back to the industry and work together for the love of haunts. It will do nothing to hurt any of you and can only help bolster business for all of you. Try referring customers to other haunts that aren't yours, try looking out for one another and being more considerate. You all have common ground, use it.
As for my attacking you, I wasn't trying to do that at all. I know I came off that way and I really am sorry for that. I value everyone's differing opinions here and that is why I love the boards. The TV stuff had nothing to do with bias, only my experience. The way things looked on tv vs real life was very, very different. TV never does real life justice. Sometimes I get too overzealous in my posts. I really didn't mean to rip into you. I am truly sorry for being a jerk.

More hot chocolate anyone??? How about this, instead of focusing on our differences, let's try to focus on positive, common ground?
Okay, so taking the critics' team out of the picture, it appears that everyone here is part of a haunt crew somehow, we get that. We also have historically seen our fair share of haunt crews coming on the site and bashing everyone else's haunt but their own.
lovestobescared appears to work at a haunt or have some affilliation somehow as do you Mr. Scary. Even though it may have appeared initially that she had no affilliation, she does and she voiced her opinion on the boards. If I had a nickel for every "user" on here that appeared to be a haunt lover and turned out to be part of the crew, I could retire. We know that this happens all the time, so why so surprised and why single her out as the bad guy? It's happened time and time again and will continue to happen.
Mr. Scary, I think what you are ultimately looking for is for anyone that comes on here that is new, to state their true position, i.e. identifying themselves as haunt crew up front, am I right? I think that until things change, we have to assume that everyone here is haunt related in some way.
It's like the user reviews, some are legit, which is great, others are from haunt crew trying to build up their haunt and bash others. Shouldn't happen, but it does. It's just part of the deal and we just have to understand that.

Frightmare was amazing, FOC was amazing as always, and HFOS, well i posted what i though of that place before the Illumninati fried the boards. Now you have been here for quite a spell as a haunt customer and now as an actor. I can say with absolute truth that you have never participated in the issue we are dealing with now. Thank you for not being a part of the problem. :)
Since you now work for a haunt, does your opinion become less valuable? If it is honest, fair and constructive, then no it does not. If however, you cross over and do nothing but bash other haunts and only give kudos to the one you work for, then yes, your opinion would have no merit. You again, have never done that.
The funny thing is that haunts are like football teams. Romanowski played for the 49ers, Eagles, Broncos and Raiders during his 16 year career. While he played for Denver especially, he was a MAJOR Raider hater, was he not? Then he went to play for them and suddenly he loved them and hated the Broncos. His foul mouth and bashing preceded him everywhere. Did his mouth help his team? Nope. Quite the opposite actually. The entire team was being judged based on his nasty comments. Why would anyone do that to themselves or their team? It's self sabotage, that's all it amounts to.
We tend to have bias and loyalty for the 'team' we are on and that is simple human nature. Of course we want our team to be the best and win. Is it necessary to have all the bashing and what really does that do for our 'team'? In readers' eyes it hurts them. If we can't be big enough to accept the fact that we have strengths and weknesses, where do we go from there?
Every haunt has something incredible to offer and every haunt has something that flat out stinks, period. There is not a haunt out there that has it nailed perfectly and there never will be. It's a live show and something can and will go wrong.
That is one thing about my team of critics that I am very proud of. While we do submit our reviews to HD, we have remained unbiased and true to the haunt lovers out there. Our commitment to our readers is our number one priority and we will not be swayed by any amount of drama or politics. We do not and will not favor one haunt over another because we have chosen sides. The only side we see from where we stand is providing a service to the readers that want information about the haunts.
So, why doesn't everyone just come clean, state which haunt they work for, shake hands and try again? What is the point in keeping it a secret about who works for who? If the truth were on the table, there would be nothing left to speculate about now would there?
I'll go first: I am the HD critic's team lead. This is my fourth year as a critic. I am not biased...okay 2 things, Swiss Miss hot chocolate and cherry Chapstick. My reviews are not influenced by anyone or anything. I call it like I see it.
Who's next?

I'll go first: I am the HD critic's team lead. This is my fourth year as a critic. I am not biased...okay 2 things, Swiss Miss hot chocolate and cherry Chapstick. My reviews are not influenced by anyone or anything. I call it like I see it.
Who's next?
I knew you were really a critic! haha j/k
I thought it said in my profile, but I guess it doesn't allow as many characters as I thought it did and cut off where I work, but I work at the 13th Floor and Bloodshed.

i have been to alomost all the haunts in the denver metro area.
Gaaah! I can't take it anymore!
You're writing like a mail order bride! This has nothing to do who (or who not) you are affiliated with and I don't care about your reviews but I can't take this sort of systematic destruction of what appears to be a thoughtful mind.
"Then they should not be working for a site that judges."
They don't! This is a public forum, it's not employment!
"This site is to bias.."
To bias? Too biased. For eff's sake I'm not a genius by any means but I feel like I'm reading a script written by "Charlie" from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
Second, do you actually read/believe what you say? Let’s stroll through memory lane (a few days apart) shall we?
hello ya'll, i work for Twisted Fairy Tales Haunt, same family who did Scream Park...and i cant stand it when ppl come on here and only say go to this haut not this bull crap, or negitive tings like tht. thats y i made sure i am not doing that. i promote others, and have yet to promote my own…
So i just say the 13th Floor on the travel channel, did anyone else see it?? From what was shown it didnt look scary at all, actually really boring…still, it looked as boring as the asylum did last yr, and every yr after that. my opinion tho..
…
And as for you Mr-scary, thank you for calling out the 2 hauntedhouses that are better then yours.
The travel channel is a place where people can go to see what and where they would like to go for different seasons, so i can judge the 13th floor by what I see. It was boring, and i would wanna go there by what i saw.
Boy is my face going to be red if I was right.

I was told by my company not to give any info at the beginning of the season, so i didnt. I have the right to with hold information. even to someone LIKE your self... Grow up mr Scary. ur nothing.
