Big Perm

As the boards die like they always do I realize that very few of you will actually take the time to read this so I'll paraphrase by saying "thanks."
There was a lot of angry talk which has become a static of these boards and I hope that most people can walk away from the season gleaning a sense of accomplishment and renewed pride since the root of these arguments is that everyone thinks they're better than everyone else; your attraction is the best, your monsters are the best, your scares are the best, etc and it's refreshing to see, after many seasons, new posters and veteran board member can still find stuff to get all hot and bothered about
Obviously, as we all know, we're a select group of employees, owners and enthusiasts that think the world lives and dies by the forums of October Lounge, that too is something we all take an unhealthy amount of pride in.
Thanks to LovesToBeScared and Mr-Scary for giving me my Jerry Springer episodes (For those of you wondering, Chris is not Mr-Scary but that was funny to see) and to the conspiracy theories thrown around willy nilly since HD must be the devil and the whole reason the reviews weren't posted was a grandiose scheme by the puppet masters.
I also enjoyed the attrition banded about which made for some exciting reading here and elsewhere on the interwebs and the opportunity to see several of you come into your true light and show the dignified respectability that I wouldn't have expected from you.
Bottom line, if you read this far I'd say you're among the elite of the elite and thanks. I'll be on here periodically as I'm sure you will, otherwise I will catch up with you next year amidst Haunted Denvers attempts to take over the world.

It is November, which means I can't keep my eyes open past like 6pm, it's weird. So lately it's long evening naps, followed by not being able to sleep when I should, followed by typing on my computer.
Is it really November or January, what's with all the friggin snow?
I miss the fall smell, the leaves falling, I thought summer was my favorite season, but maybe fall is starting to take over for me...warm fall.
The OC Halloween beer tour is over, the winter tour is about to start, guess that signals November as well.
Perm, your post is pretty funny, although I have to disagree on the "everyone thinks they're better idea" I only want to be better than the year before. Contrary to what some may believe about me, I don't care what others in town do, nor do I compare our attractions to the others in town. I judge our success by the people lined up to get in, ultimately it's what they think that matters. No amount of marketing can replace good word of mouth, no web site, no advertising, no reviews, nothing. If you have a good product, people will come.
With as much talk that there has been about biased reviews or fixed reviews, I find it amusing that people can think that, yet see that we do not always get the highest reviews from the critics. Once again, the customers ultimately decide, and the reason for the user reviews that were implemented on HD last year. I hope to see them grow into a useful tool for haunt goers, and to not see as much of people rating a haunt a 1, with no written review, while at the very same time, some haunts get rated a 10.
All haunted houses are different, take each one for what they are. If you enjoyed them, let people know.
This year I thought 13th Street Manor was great, beautiful set design.
I've enjoyed Field of Corpses every time I've gone, and that didn't change this year, a fun event.
City of the Dead put together a good show, I was impressed with what they did for a first year attraction, and a temporary set up.
Haunted Mines was a great time, loved the descender, loved the setting, loved that coyotes could possibly attack me at any time.
I enjoyed all 4 that I made it to locally. I also made it to a friends place out of state that was fantastic, so much fun.
Perm, you're right, I am not Mr. Scary. Mr. Scary is one of our acting directors, has been for years, a great guy who does a great job for us. He's worked in haunted house for 19 years, he's seen a lot, I trust his opinion, but no he's not me. (If you want to see him, check out America Haunts 2, he's the guy who says he's worked in haunted houses for 19 years) Sorry to ruin everyone's conspiracy theories, but I'm not Mr. Scary, and I'm not Big Perm, or Real Ratings.
In fact, I will go on record here. I have never posted on these boards, or any others, as anyone other than myself, Chris, which is also how I sign the majority of my posts. I have posted here on behalf of HD, and our events, but so have others.
So, on to the off-season, some much needed rest. I am soooo looking forward to spending time with my family, my wife and kids have been haunted house widow and orphans for a while now.
Just as Perm will, I will be checking the boards and chatting with those that hang around in the off-season.
