Okay, I'll be the first to admit that I went a little (maybe a lot) overboard with this one; This basically is 2 thoughts part of which is what is left over from last year in the sense that I'm saying very few haunts deserve the elusive 10 star ratings (we all know what I think is a 10 star). You are exactly right: apples and oranges and it is, in fact, silly to hold everything in comparison to top nationally ranked attractions, I don't want to set the scales to top out at 6 or 7 and call this the best. The other part directed towards the posters here to think about; on one hand I'm stating a comparison to where we stand nationally to the frequent reader or poster which would have nothing to do with how the general public would see it. If that makes any sense? I wouldn't go out and give Anderson Farms' Terror in the Corn a 4 (as was evidenced last year).
I still can't buy into the theatrical analogy though. I see what you mean, I wouldn't critique a high school performance as I would a Broadway show but that would be holding amateurs to professional standards, I most certainly would not hold Freakville to Scream Park standards (okay, bad example).
I don't want to get into the numbers game again either because it is very argumentative, the numbers could very easily range from 5-10 or from 8-9. And as far as money goes, again you're right and I know this, it is a demographic thing, they charge what they can get away with but that doesn't mean we have to like it after all isn't that exactly what people were bitching about with gas?
Lastly, why do I bother attending or "dealing" with everyone here?

I do enjoy MOST of the Denver area haunts and think that they are pretty entertaining...Denver is a good town, far better than most on the HH circuit...[/b]
And because believe it or not I like you guys and because time and again you have proven me wrong and helped me see something in another way that I hadn't thought of. By no means do I think I'm the final voice in this, I know you have your reasons which are not always clear to me but when explained make perfect sense. Additionally, 3 people replying to my post isn't the majority and maybe other people will weigh in and back me up or put me in my place. And C, I want it to be known that that "haunt expert" thing was you, not me.
